It's Thrilling Thursday!!!!!

Another beautiful day in the mountains, learning, playing, singing, dancing, and having tons of fun! We have such a great group of kids! I love seeing them throughout the day, talking with them, getting hugs, hearing the exciting things that God is doing in their lives. Although we have had a few sun burns and scraped knees the kids are still having so much fun!! We have one more day to go and then you will have excited kids joining you at home.

Wild and Wonderful Wednesday!

Sorry for the delay in posting this message and pictures. Our internet connection works sometimes, and sometimes it doesn’t.

Wednesday was another beautiful day at Camp Wondervu. Our weather was beautiful . . . warm and sunny all day. We saw quite a few pink cheeks and shoulders on our kids last night. I’ll be sure to get sunscreen on them all today.

Some of our kids went on a Secret Mission, but we don’t have the details, since they were sworn to secrecy! I’m sure you will hear stories of great adventure at some point in time.

We also had a couple of our kids as contestants on the Secret Spy Squares game: Brandon and Courtney. They did a good job and had lots of fun. Some of our boys had the opportunity to take canoe rides and had a lot of fun on the lake. Lindsay took and Elijah around the lake. (Jan is too chicken!)

Last night we had a great lesson on the Gift of the Holy Spirit and how He brings power to our lives. Ask your kids about the leaf blower and the beach ball!

See you in a couple of days!

What a day we have had!!! It has been FULL of fun, games, food, and time with the Lord. During devotions this morning we watched while our group leaders drank "poision" but then drank the antidote (ie Jesus in our lives) to save their lives. Then we moved on to activities; games, an obstacle course, and canoeing on the lake. In the afternoon the kids got to participate in "Get Smart Squares" a great spy game show. Lindsay was on the top row and was a little nervous and Jan was on the bottom row and was afraid of being crushed. It was quite a time! Later in the afternoon we had a beauty contest that Lindsay and Josh B were contestants in. A curly mustache was not the look for Lindsay. After that we made spy crafts and had fun at free time. The kids got crazy at Fireside just before dinner. The boys of New Song were up on stage helping lead the camp in worship and dance. They practiced hard and did an amazing job! What a group of leaders! Then we learned about how God sometimes grows us and stretches us in situations that are not comfortable but bring us to where God wants us to be. We prayed and worshiped together and met God in a mighty way! Check out some of our pictures!

We all made it safely to camp!

This afternoon the kids built their individual spy kits including passports, photos, fingerprints, spy cell phones, spy back packs . . . a total spy gear packet.

Today I saw no tears, no homesick kids, no upset tummies . . . just excited happy campers.

We talked about sin in our lives and how we can't fix it ourselves, but when we use the secret code words "forgive me" . . . God can and does. Our Elijah even got to help act out the Bible story and was a crowd-pleaser.

Here are some pictures from our first day of JAM camp.

Enjoy!

Bill, Jacob, Cami, Olivia, Lindsay and Jan are all up at the camp getting settled in. We are so anxious for all the kids to arrive tomorrow afternoon. It sounds like we are going to have a great time, with lots of fun activities planned from the minute you all arrive and get settled.

It’s a little cool up here tonight, but not rainy. Be sure to pack your sweatshirts for night time. You will definitely need them.

We start our “training” at 8:30 tomorrow morning so things will be in full swing by the time you arrive here tomorrow afternoon. Can’t wait to see you!
